About
I'm a  Psychotherapist and Counsellor working in Christchurch. My desire is to help guide and support through the multitude of life difficulties and trauma’s to a place of Hope, Personal Growth, Empowerment and over all Well-being.

Story
I feel Psychotherapy and Counselling should be a safe, trusting and confidential space to explore and create positive change for ourselves. My practice is informed by a range of therapeutic models from Person-Centred Therapy, Somatic Therapy,Mindfulness,Psychodynamic Therapy, CBT(Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), EFT(Emotional Freedom Techniques) and Trauma-Focused Therapy. For me it is about providing an environment of genuine empathic understanding, combined with warmth, acceptance and deep respect. Within the  therapeutic relationship I aim to create an encouragement for self-awareness and consciousness  so that you are able to recognise and address unhelpful thoughts, feelings and behaviours in order to help develop and strengthen inner resources and capacities to make positive and fullfilling changes in all aspects of your life.
My hope is that together we can explore the different issues that you may be faced with and with gentle enquiry and guidance from myself to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, alongside your unconscious beliefs and ways of being.  I hope that you will be given an opportunity to express concerns and problems, to achieve clarity of thought and increase self-awareness, freedom of self and continue the journey of becoming the person you would like to be.

I have experience in working with a range of different issues such as abuse (physical, sexual, emotional, mental),addiction, anger management, anxiety, bereavement/loss, bullying, Bipolar disorder/Manic depression, child related issues, compulsive lying, depression, dissociation, divorce/separation, domestic violence, family issues, identity issues, low self-confidence, low self-esteem, lack of direction/purpose, panic attacks, post-traumatic stress disorder, relationship issues, substance abuse, self-harm, sexual abuse, stress, suicidal thoughts, sex problems, trauma.

I currently work as a therapist at START healing in Christchurch working predominantly with Trauma with adolescents and adults. Alongside this I am beginning my private work in Rolleston/Lincoln area to provide a range of therapeutic services.
