About Wellington Music Centre is a Ministry of Ed out-of-hours music school for primary and intermediate children. Lessons run on Saturdays at Island Bay School. Story The Wellington Music Centre has been running for over 30 years in various venues, most recently they moved from Evans Bay Intermediate to Island Bay School. The ethos of the 'out-of-hours' music scheme has always been to make music lessons accessible to all families, through low fees, subsidised by the Ministry of Education.
