About Colombo Martinborough is a small, independent boutique winery in Martinborough, New Zealand. The winery and cellar door located on the homeblock vineyard on Todds Road is open to the public for wine tastings, vineyard platters and small functions. Story Colombo Winegrowers is owned and operated by Carolyn Irwin from Derry, Northern Ireland and Johann Baptist Sieber from Zurich, Switzerland. Their home block is situated on the edge of the Martinborough village, at the southern end of New Zealand’s North Island. Having a soft spot for traditional small-scale, hands-on viticulture and winemaking, all vineyard labour is done by hand and winemaking is based on minimal intervention. Recently bottled is Colombo's first Sauvignon Blanc, with a Syrah, Pinot Noir and Pinot Noir Reserve to come later this year.
