Story
Autotech began its origins as an in-house vehicle maintenance service for the Tech Group (Electrotech Controls Ltd and Tech Mechanical Services Ltd) to manage the large fleet of company cars, vans and trucks. Autotech still continues that work but also provides the service to the general public, and other companies throughout Hawke’s Bay.
The team includes, Tony Edmonds, who heads up Autotech, and brings in over thirty years of mechanical expertise to the business; and Katie Sole, apprentice mechanic  and swiftly becoming an asset to the business also.  
 “We have a good reputation locally for a friendly, prompt and efficient service with a long standing customer base that we’re very proud of” commented Tony “We can also provide a courtesy car when available or a pick up/delivery service of customer vehicles to keep the customer’s day running as smoothly as possible.”

The latest area of development for the business is equipment that allows Autotech to provide the specialised service of re-gassing struts (or known as stays) in vehicles. “Everybody is aware of the scenario of gas struts failing on their vehicle boot, bonnet or hatchback, causing them not to hold open properly (also found on ute canopies, boat hatches, and so on). We can re-gas all of those, and we are the only suppliers of this service in the Napier region” said Tony.
