Story
We have a spacious and vibrant new building with a large outdoor area with established trees. We are committed to providing a warm welcoming, environment for all children and their whānau.

We old a termly event that all whānau are invited to, so that relationships are developed and strengthened. Our fifth birthday celebrations are a rite of passage and include traditions like “the big jump to school” and wearing a korowai/cloak.

Silverstream was the first kindergarten in the Upper Hutt area and we have a strong sense of community.  We are near Silverstream Village and benefit from the amenities including proximity to both train and bus routes.

We are one of a few sessional kindergartens in the region and this suits many in our community.

We have a close relationship with both local schools, Silverstream and Pinehaven, and a strong transition to school process. We encourage children to learn through play, to explore different experiences and to develop social skills within a warm caring environment. Our teachers work with the children, listening to them, extending their thinking and supporting them to work with each other. Our programme grows from children’s interests.
