About Durable, fully washable lunch wrappers and snack bags made with waterproof, food safe liners. Lunch Things - Saving the planet one lunch at a time Story Hi I'm Nin. I live in the Selwyn District of Canterbury, New Zealand with my family. I started making these lunch things because I couldn't find anywhere local to buy them. My daughter's school has a zero waste policy on landfill rubbish - there are no general waste (landfill) bins at all. This means all the packaging surrounding her lunches comes home in her lunchbox. The amount of waste - particularly cling wrap was a little confronting! So I researched and found a liner fabric that is safe - has no harmful chemicals but is waterproof and washable, and best of all its DURABLE - this liner has been tested to beyond 300 hot washes. Now I don't intend that you will hot wash your wrappers every day (do so, if that's what you need to do - but it really only needs a quick wipe with a clean cloth).
