About Aikido Kapiti is a martial arts club practising the Iwama style of Aikido. Story The club operates on the Kapiti Coast, with members joining us from Paekakariki, Raumati, Paraparaumu, Waikanae, Otaki, and even further afield. We train on Tuesday evening: 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM (seniors) and Saturday morning: 9:00 AM to 9:50 AM (juniors during school terms), 10:00 AM to 10:50 AM (seniors), 11:00 to 11:50 AM (advanced, 4th kyu and above). Please see or website for further details about training. We practice the traditional style of Aikido taught by the late Morihiro Saito Sensei. Master Saito spent more than 20 years living and studying with the founder of Aikido, longer than any other student.
