About Handmade,Recrafted or Rebuilt Tattoo Machines by Dave Stevens- a.k.a Wicked..Owner of Electric Ink Tattoo Ltd,Levin and Paraparaumu,New Zealand. Story Maker of Custom Handmade Tattoo machines and rebuilder of Tattoo machines for the Professional Tattooist.. I use basic tools and equipment ,done in the Old School method.Left with a few scratches,pit marks etc to show they are hand built,not mass produced by peasants. Lot's of time,energy,experience(28 yrs tattooing) and love go into my machines and rebuilds,it's my Metal Therapy in the shed after a long week tattooing. I use old spanners,tools,door latches,clocks,mechanical sprockets,low carbon steel and brass to creat my machines,use my own hand-wound coils or from North America.Machines are finished with heat-treating,polishing or painted to suit.
