About High Quality Early Childhood Education Story The Kindergarten has a team of fully trained and registered teachers who are experienced and caring. They endeavour to assist children to reach their full potential. The teachers support the children to develop positive dispositions that create competent, confident learners and communicators who are accepting of themselves and others; people who are secure in knowing they make a valued contribution to society. The teaching programme incorporates the Early Childhood Curriculum of Te Whaariki which includes the strands of Well Being, Belonging, Communication, Exploration and Contribution. Teachers also value the strategies of the Virtues Project. It is based on the simple wisdom of the world’s different cultures and religions and focuses on living by the best within us – courage, honour, justice and kindness to name a few. Raumati South Kindergarten staff and committee members have strong links and relationships with the local community and the families of Kindergarten children. They are very grateful for the enormous level of support from families either through parent participation, caring for animals, working bees, general maintenance, fundraising efforts or donations of materials.
