About Healthy Families Waitakere is about creating healthier choices for West Auckland whānau in places where we live, learn, work and play. Story Healthy Families NZ was set up by the Ministry of Health to address the growing health inequities and increasing number of people impacted by preventable chronic disease in New Zealand. Healthy Families NZ is about understanding the systems that people interact with daily in the places we live, learn, work and play. The aim is to build strong partnerships across these places to create the change and improve people’s health. The major investment is in a workforce that will be responsible for working with local leaders to change the systems that impact on health. Healthy Families Waitakere is 1 of 10 sites around the country and our team of 10 sit in the Sport Waitakere office in Henderson, Auckland.
