About We are a group that enjoy playing tabletop wargames and boardgames from historical to fantasy to science fiction. Meetings - 2nd Thursday evening each month, starting at 7:00pm. Story The Hawke's Bay Wargames Club was founded in 1989 and originally located at the Pakowhai Hall between Napier and Hastings, New Zealand. After a few years we re-located to Hastings and have been there ever since, currently at the Duke Street Scout Hall. Originally playing mainly historical wargames, the members mostly play Warhammer 40,000, but the occasional historic game is played from time to time - usually World War II, Naval or Moderns.
