Affordable homestay-style accommodation - in the heart of Mangawhai Village , 
110 kms north of Auckland , New Zealand.

Story
Kia ora !  Alan Preston here at Mangawhai Travellers Rest. 
 I have recently ( January 2014 ) opened up my home to provide cheap accommodation to travellers and other like-minded people.

About the house : 110 year old two-storeyed cottage:  2 x double bedrooms - with extra bedding for kids etc and a big open music room with futons and camping or room to park campers or buses out in the garden - with access to amenities. 
Right next door to the Mangawhai Hall where the weekly Saturday Market is held and right across the road from the 4 Square Supermarket.  Very convenient - but quiet at night.

About me: originally from Auckland.  54 years old.  Travelled a lot in a lot of countries . Spent 10 years teaching English Language in Japan (speak Japanese ) and 6 years teaching in Queenstown( NZ) Teach guitar / music and perform as an accompanist and enjoy playing socially.   Politically progressive and active, vegan, non-smoker, light drinker, writer, artist, body-surfer , cyclist ( 8 kms to the beach ) . 
This is my home - I enjoy the company of others.
