About Harlequin is a musical theatre group dedicated to quality local theatre productions. Story Harlequin Musical Theatre is a passionate, innovative group dedicated to producing quality theatrical productions. Harlequin Musical Theatre partakes in NAPTA (Northern Area Performance Theatre Awards) and is a member of Musical Theatre New Zealand. Our past shows include the NZ premier of A Christmas Carol and Rent, The Witches of Eastwick, Steaming, West Side Story and Little Shop of Horrors. At the Harlequin Musical Theatre, there are many opportunities for people to be involved – we are always looking for extra sets of hands to help out. Areas include props, front of house, set building, stage crew and production management. Harlequin Musical Theatre is also available for venue hire and we also offer props and costume hire.
