About Whai Manawa is the organisation aiming to create collective outcomes for marae of Ngaati Mahanga; Ngaati Wairere; Ngaati Koroki-Kahukura and Ngaati Hauaa Story Whai Manawa was set up in 2010 as part of a Waikato-Tainui iwi initiative to establish marae collectives across its 68 marae. Whai Manawa was one of two marae clusters initially started. Originally, as a working group comprised of representatives across 12 marae, the key functions of Whai Manawa included assisting our marae, Hapuu and iwi to achieve the goals of the strategic plan, Te Whakatupuranga Waikato-Tainui 2050.
