About Bear Park is a Reggio-inspired early childhood school. We cater to children between 3 months and five years, with centres in Auckland and Dunedin. Story Bear Park was established in 1986. We have become known for providing inspired and nurturing environments to help young minds learn. Founder Sue Stevely-Cole is a passionate educator and has always believed in providing quality pre school education and care for children. Alongside the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum Te Whāriki, we are greatly inspired by the Reggio Philosophy. Each centre is a place of wonder for children, where they are able to engage in endless opportunities. Where curiosity, excitement, wonder, and spontaneous imagination are nurtured. It is a place of laughter and joy, of friends and memories. Our philosophy of listening to the children, and creating a nurturing environment in childcare has assisted us in creating close relationships between family, child and teacher. Many of our centres have been designed within existing homes, as we deeply value the role and security that family life plays on those first precious years of life. Other sites have been modified to create the same meaningful space or have been purpose built. Over the years Bear Park has evolved into a very strong collaborative group of committed owners and teachers who are able to create engaging environments for children to grow and learn in.
