Story
Kia ora! My name is Nikuru (tricky name I know!) and I have been working in the Health and Fitness Industry since 2005.

I graduated from Canterbury University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Film and English Literature, but continued with my Physical Education after a 'marriage and baby interim' and attended the New Zealand College of Fitness in 2005.

I have been a certified Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor since then, passionate about motivating and helping people reach their health and fitness goals.

I believe the toughest challenge of being in the fitness industry is that there is this worldwide concept of exercise being about 'work' 'working out', when instead to really get people into it and to make it a long-term lifestyle choice, it needs to be more about 'play'.

For me, Zumba definitely fits into the second category, it's all about having fun and enjoying yourself and that's what I absolutely love about it.

It is such a blast to teach Zumba, I love being able to make people smile, laugh and have a good time.

Exercise shouldn't be about working, it should be about enjoyment, and that is definitely what Zumba is all about.

Zumba is for everyone, so come along and give it a go, I guarantee you will have a great time!
