Story
Welcome to my facebook page. I sell beautiful books and gifts for children from Barefoot Books, an award winning children's books publisher. Our books have opened  windows to other cultures and perspectives, while also providing children of all backgrounds and abilities with a much-needed mirror of their own experiences.

My name is Jean. I live in Wellington, New Zealand with my husband, Willie and 3 children. I enjoy spending time with my children, watching them grow and develop as they discover new things daily. Often, you can find me on the couch with a pile of children's books reading to my children. My eldest is 7 and she still loves it when I read to her.  When I am not busy nurturing my children and taking them to their activities, I work part time for a leading international accounting firm.

Barefoot Books Wellington/Children's Books New Zealand is my hobby business. It's my stress reliever after a hard day dealing with numbers . I enjoy discovering new children's books and new things about literacy and children. I spent countless hours on the couch with my children pouring through books, helping my children discover new words, examining illustrations etc. It never ceases to amaze me that we keep discovering new things about a book even though we've read it cover to cover a zillion times. To top it off, sometime ago, my daughter, Leanna said "Mummy, you are so cool because you are our mummy and you do so much for us, you have an accounting job and you sell books."  Warmed my heart. "The Children's Bookshelf NZ, a specialist in children's books.We are an online children's book shop, where you will find books with beautiful art and meaningful stories"
