About We offer instruction in traditional Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate, as taught in the World Karate Federation (WKF). Traditional karate tecniques, sports karate, kata, bunkai, kumite (free sparring), weapons training and Hojo undo. Story Goju-Ryu is considered a traditional karate style because it can trace its lineage straight back to the founder, Chojun Miyagi Sensei and is dedicated to preserving the art in its original form, as handed down by Chojun Miyagi Sensei. The Traditional framework of instruction includes: Traditional karate techniques Sports karate techniques Kata (prearranged fighting moves) Bunkai (self defence applications for the kata) Kumite (free sparring) from novice to senior grade levels Hojo Undo (supplementary fitness training specific to karate) Weapons (Bo, Jo, Shinai, Bokken, Sai, Nunchaku, etc...)
