About Specialists in preschool music, group piano & drumming We teach music as a language Listen | Sing | Play | Read |FUN! www.chchmusicacademy.co.nz Story We are specialists in preschool music & group piano lessons for school aged students. Pre-schoolers may commence at ages 2, 3 or 4 years. For children ages 4yrs through to 15 years, we run group music classes with the piano being the learned instrument. Our classes involve: singing, percussion, rhythm, note-reading, music appreciation, musical / aural games, and much more! Our philosophy is based on a 'listen, then sing, then play, then read & write' approach to learning music. Whilst our teaching style is really fun, our students develop impressive aural skills along with a range of fundamental musical skills such as singing in tune, composition, holding a part and harmony writing.
