About:
About Providing preventative and restorative dental care for equids. Story The health of a horse's mouth is crucially important not only to their overall condition, but also to their wellbeing and comfort when being ridden. Dental issues can affect the health of a horse in many ways including weightloss, poor digestion, poor absorption, infections in the oral cavity, ulceration in the digestive tract, muscle loss and general unwellness. Additionally, pain and discomfort in the mouth can also affect our horses when they are being ridden and can cause head shaking, bit refusal, holding of the bit, bucking and rearing. Just like us, horses should see their dentist every 6 months to a year to ensure there are no developing problems. As with many equine health issues; prevention is better than cure!
