About The official page of Whangarei Volunteer Coastguard Inc. Story Our operational area covers Bream Head in the north, out to and including the Mokohinau Islands, and down to Mangawhai Heads in the south. Also in this area is the entire Whangarei Harbour, as well as the Marsden Point Oil Refinery. Our unit consists of two bases - one within the Whangarei Cruising Club at Kissing Point in Whangarei City, and the other within Marsden Cove Marina at Marsden Point.
