About Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision is New Zealand’s moving image and sound archive. Story This page is regularly updated with information on the treasures held in the collections of Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision, and details about screenings / events coming up at our Wellington headquarters and touring programmes across New Zealand. If you have information to share about items in our collections, or if you recognise a person or place in one of our posts, please comment on our page. We'd love to hear from you. Mission To collect, share and care for New Zealand's audiovisual taonga. Products The Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision central office in Wellington (cnr Ghuznee and Taranaki streets) is where the majority of our moving image archiving takes place. Also at our Wellington branch: call in and visit our media library, or make an appointment to use our research library. Our Christchurch office is where the majority of our sound archiving happens. Visits to the Christchurch branch are by appointment only (email sound@ngataonga.org.nz), as audio recordings take time to source and prepare for listening. Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision also operates a Travelling Film Show, which can be booked to screen anywhere in the country (www.ngataonga.org.nz/collections/access-points/travelling-film-show), and medianet sites where you can view material from the collections in art galleries, museums and libraries around the country (www.ngataonga.org.nz/collections/access-points/medianet)
