XCHC is a creative hub providing flexible production and showcase space to all creative people/industries. Artist studios, showcase space & venue, cafe, bar, & accommodation. We're owned by a trust, so the money stays local and supports the community

Story
XCHC is a public cafe and creative hub for people to connect, showcase their work, public events, exhibitions, and co-working.

XCHC provides free hot-desking in the cafe, or affordable open-floor production & studio spaces. Currently, jewelry makers, photographers, musicians, fashion designers, builders, architects, painters, and social enterprises work in the space and we're always accepting expressions of interest!

XCHC connects creative practitioners and surrounding disciplines to provide a safe space for people to learn from each other, trial, prototype, and fail with the support of the community.

XCHC cafe and bar connects the general public where we receive valuable feedback and can cultivate business interests and develop our creative selves.

XCHC offers a full loft apartment for artist residencies but also people visiting Christchurch who want to connect with the local culture and creative scene.

XCHC has an Emerging Artist Fund that helps cover the cost of trialing our Make, Showcase, Share & Stay ecology. Apply on our website if any of these sound interesting to you.

XCHC collaborates with local and international institutions such as galleries and museums, universities, cultural institutions and independent Christchurch based artists and performers.
