About The Beached Whale is a casual seaside restaurant located in Kaiteriteri. Close to the Abel Tasman we are a 45 mins. drive from sunny Nelson. Story The Beached Whale is a casual seaside restaurant and bar located in Kaiteriteri. On the doorstep of the Abel Tasman National Park we are only 20 minutes from Motueka and 45 minutes from sunny Nelson. We are open 7 nights a week from Boxing Day until the end of April. During the winter season we open on reduced days. The Beached Whale caters to everyone! We have a fantastic selection of local beer and wine, wood fired pizzas, takeaways and full a la carte and bar menu. The bar has SKY TV, a pool table, fireplace and live music on request.
