About Flames continually burning surrounded by ferns in the bush? It’s true! A bush walk with a ‘different’ ending. Story Drive up a beautiful valley, passing capped oil wells and discover the history of the area. Cross a working deer farm, learning about this important industry - your chance to see a NZ farm from the inside! Walk through rich, pristine beech bush, encountering ancient mosses and ferns before arriving at the spot where natural gas is seeping out of a dry stream bed. Drink 'billy tea' and eat pancakes cooked over the flames with local honey. The bush walk takes an hour each way. Bring a sense of adventure - the track is rough and unformed! Personal service assured with friendly guides and small groups. Scheduled tours go twice a day from the rafting base on the main road - have fun on the river too! Tours from Oct - April.
