The Lake Motel – a boutique motel with retro styling and modern comfort is one of the original motels in Taupo and also one of the most unique.

The classic style has been maintained, but with a modern twist to create New Zealand’s most stylish, retro, mid-century themed boutique motel.

You’ll find us 200m from the shore of the Great Lake Taupo, with tranquil spaces, friendly faces and surrounded by beautifully restored retro motel rooms. Come, and hideaway at The Lake Motel, Taupo, New Zealand.
The 6 motel units have been decorated in a retro style using restored furniture and art from the 1960’s & 1970’s, whilst still offering modern comforts.

The location of The Lake is ideal, situated in ‘the bird area’ of Taupo, it is just 200 metres from the lake front and within walking distance of Taupo’s town centre & restaurants. Although central, it is surrounded by trees and is away from the main highway.
