About Maddi & Rua are my wildlife detector dogs. Together we find a range of threatened bird species. The dogs love sniffing out ducks, kiwi & seabirds! Story Use specially trained wildlife detector dogs to safely indicate the presence of endangered bird species. These birds include, pateke, black petrel, grey-faced petrel, Hawaiian petrel, Cook's petrel, NZ storm petrel and North island brown kiwi. Other services offered:report writing, data entry, acoustic analysis, standardisation & analysis of data, bird banding & handling, attaching of transmitters to birds, 5 minute bird counts, kokako surveys, weed surveys/control, and mustelid & cat trapping.
