We serve the public by collecting, preserving, researching and interpreting objects and historical records. This means we are preserving and making available everybody's heritage. We are an important way of educating young and old and helping in understanding our community and the place we all occupy in it. The Historical Society is working hard towards either a new purpose built museum or a suitable building if one comes to hand.
