Story
Brief Course Description: The 100 k starts at Albert Town Tavern 3am. Start off with a wee warm-up over Mt Iron before running through Wanaka and around the lake edge to Roy's Peak Track. You climb up Roy's Peak (first runners will catch the sunrise from the top!), over Mt Alpha, down to the Cardrona Valley via the Spotts Creek track then up the Criffle Track and along to the Snow Farm and the start of the marathon. The Mountain Marathon will start at the Snow Farm and travel to the top of Mt Pisa (9kms) then a big down hill to Lake McKay Station woolshed, Luggate (20km) joins the 13.5k cross country runners head around and under the main road (stock underpass) then heading toward the Clutha River for about 500m, from there a short climb up onto the upper terrace following a farm track to Stevensons road, turn left onto Stevensons road travel 500 then turn right over farm tracks to Halliday Rd. follow Halliday Rd. then after the crossing of the Cardrona River follow around the edge of the Clutha River to the Bridge then up to the finish at the Albert Town Tavern (12km from Luggate)
