About A garden of National significance in South Taranaki. Adjacent to a historic Maori Pa and full of New Zealand Natives. Garden open by appointment only. Story Extensive plantings of trees, both native and introduced, over the past 30 years have turned bare hillside into a garden which sits comfortably within its wider landscape, bordering the 400 year old Puketarata Pa. The skilled blending of many native plants with exotic and introduced plants is a particular strength and the mature cordylines (our iconic cabbage trees) are an eyecatching and unusual feature. Generous herbaceous plantings feature throughout the garden.
