We have extensive knowledge and experience in assisting communities, families and individuals towards capability building strategies that are self-sustaining, empowering and profitable. The drive of WERA Aotearoa Charitable Trust is clear: "to see families and their communities become more healthier, independant and autonomous". WERA is made up of staff and management who have worked in whānau and community development at a local, regional and national levels giving us a mix of experiences, backgrounds and qualifications. This combination has transformed into innovative, unique services specific to Aotearoa. The first of these services was the creation of ‘Career Assessment and Planning – The WERA way.’ Our experience in whānau and community development found that career assessment and planning with youth and whānau wasn’t being delivered as culturally appropriate as it needed to be. As a result, we developed our own indigenous version of career assessment and planning. This model gained popularity with youth and whānau within our communities and so our service began. The future looks busy for WERA Aotearoa Charitable Trust and we consider it a privilege to work with whānau and communities celebrating their success and creating a strong future.
