About Putaruru Tokoroa & Districts Herb Society was established in 1983. To promote all aspects of herbs. Story Putaruru Tokoroa & Districts Herb Society was established in 1983. Meetings - Held on 1st Sunday of each month Venue- St. Marks Hall Bridge Street, Tokoroa Meeting Time- Starts at 1.00pm; Meeting ends with a herbal afternoon tea, safe, friendly & fun environment What happens at the meeting - Sales table offering herbs, plants & herbal products Raffle table to raise funds for activities Library- collection of resources which members can borrow Herb of the month presentation Demonstrations Learning workshops Social activities - Guest speakers, Discussion groups, Trips to other Herb Societies, Mystery trips, Xmas & mid winter celebrations Newsletter - all members receive newsletters Mission Vision To be recognised as the main source of information on all aspects of herbs and herbal education within the South Waikato Districts Mission - To create awareness on all aspects of herb through learning opportunities To share the knowledge of its members with the South Waikato Community To promote higher thinking simple living with magic of herbs Values Putaruru Tokoroa & Districts Herb Society believes in: Promoting the use of herbs Providing learning opportunities to ist members and the South Waikato Community Providing opportunities for networking and the exchange of information and experiences within its membership, with other herbs societies, experts and the wider community Promoting respects for our global environment and the preservation of herbs Promoting the history and understanding of herbs Key Projects of Putaruru Tokoroa & Districts Herb Society Community Course at Tokoroa High School Workshop for Creative Arts Students Herb Garden Medicine for the Garden Workshop Farmers Market Day Herb of the Month Workshops Herbal First Aid cosmetic of your kitchen Creating Awareness of the magic of herbs
