Opononi Beach Holiday Park is a beautiful spacious family camp adjacent to the Hokianga Harbour with panoramic views of sand dunes from all sites. Safe swimming, diving, good fishing from boat or rocks. Fishing trips can be arranged. Playground for children. Close to the famous Waipoua Kauri Forest and Rawene Golf Course. Hotel, Restaurant and Local Store just a 5 min walk. Boogie-board the sand dunes. Great fun!

Opononi Beach Holiday Park is a camping ground with tent and power sites plus cabins located directly across the road from the spectacular Hokianga Harbour. Look out across the sparkling water to the golden sand dunes during the day and enjoy the fabulous sunsets in the evening. Close to the Waipoua Kauri Forest and only 1hr drive to the Bay of Islands, this is the ideal accommodation to base yourself in when exploring Northland on a budget.
The beach settlement of Opononi was made famous in the mid-1950s by the tame dolphin Opo, who used to let children ride on her back. From Opononi Wharf you can catch a water taxi to the giant sand dunes on the other side of the harbour – go sand boarding or walk to amazing sandstone formations.
