As the best rated hostel and Lonely Planet’s “Our Pick” of places to stay in Taupo; Finlay Jack’s backpackers is the place to stay! We like to think of ourselves and just some young guys running a sweet as hostel, plus we’ve got a dog (give him a follow on Instagram @BiggieTheHostelDog).

Taupo is the adventure capital of New Zealand, some say of the whole world. If you’re looking to jump out of a plane or off a cliff, or simply discover the beautiful scenery of Great Lake Taupo and the famous neighbouring Tongariro domain; the Finlay Jack’s squad are keen to help you out. We’ve tried and tested pretty much everything round here, so you can trust us to give you a good time!

Finlay Jack’s have a range of different sized dormitories and private rooms and offer excellent facilities such as free parking and wifi, bikes to hire and Netflix and X-Box (for those more rainy/hungover days).
