About BUSINESS TOGETHER IS BETTER! Story One Warkworth Business Association's ability to add value and support local businesses depends on the revenue generated from sponsorship, membership fees and the volunteer hours available to do the job. The committee aims to do the following: Events and promotion: • Manage and support local events that showcase our town and provide local businesses with marketing opportunities that attract more visitors and locals to the area • Provide exclusive opportunities for members to promote their businesses via a Shop Local campaign Business networking and socials • Organise social and networking events enabling members to tap into the knowledge and expertise of business leaders, consultants and advisors • Provide opportunities for local businesses to share their experiences and concerns, and collectively develop solutions • Share resources and ideas with the many local community groups and organisations we have relationships with Knowledge hub • Use our vast network of contacts across a range of business disciplines to support members achieve business objectives and growth • Use our comprehensive database to communicate with a range of stakeholders on behalf of our members • Put our members in touch with the right people • Provide advice on the areas of expertise of our committee including finance, marketing and public relations, recruitment, event management, tourism, sales, visual media production and customer service Advocacy • Build influential relationships with the Rodney Local Board, Auckland Council, Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED), Auckland Transport, the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA), Warkworth Area Liaison Group, and Matakana Coast and Country • Influence decisions and solutions to benefit local economic growth and community well-being e.g. the Unitary Plan, transport and roading • Encourage better consultation so that decision makers understand our local needs Economic development • Work closely with Auckland Council’s Business and Local Economic Development Team to explore ways of collectively investing in improvements that enhance our local business environment "One Mahurangi Business Association works in the heart of the north Rodney community to support and boost business growth. We work for businesses in Warkworth as a business improvement district, and alongside neighbouring towns and villages in the Puhoi to Pakiri area including Snells Beach and Matakana Coast.As well as operating the Warkworth Information Centre the only one adjacent to State Highway One between Auckland and Whangarei, our key functions are local promotion, networking, advocacy and lobbying, training and employment opportunities."
