Story
Te Aroha Primary School is currently a decile 3 state primary school with a U4 rating. It is a co-educational school catering for children from Year 0 to Year 8.

Our school is very well resourced and successive Boards of Trustees have worked very hard to provide the best learning and teaching environment for the children. The school charter is updated each year and targets are set for education achievement.

The Parent Teachers' Association and Whanau Group play vital roles in providing support for many school activities.

The school roll is in the range of 180 to 200 pupils.

The ethnic composition of the school consists of European, Maori and Asian students and the school is a signatory to the Code of Conduct for International Students. Through the Ministry of Education, the school receives Targeted Funding for Educational Achievement. The majority of this is used to provide extra staffing to reduce the overall pupil-teacher ratio.

The school employs teacher aides and they are used in the main to support children with learning difficulties. The school has two attached teachers in a Behaviour and Learning Support Team which serves the thirteen schools in the Piako cluster.

The school is committed to providing a range of educational opportunities for all children and over the years, has experienced much success in academic, cultural and sporting endeavours.
