About A page dedicated to the care and preservation of one of the most beautiful ocean beaches in NZ... Story The Kawhia and Aotea ocean beaches are amongst the most majestically wild & stunning coast lines in New Zealand, if not the world... Our mission is to create a team of volunteer caregivers to maintain it's pristine beauty by keeping it rubbish free and informing us via this page on whats going on out there by way of photo's or just reporting on the GOOD, the BAD and the UGLY... Here are just some of the things that you could help with: If you have a quad bike, make it a habit of picking up anything that shouldn't be there, even if it's just a couple of items at a time... Let us know the locality of nesting birds, so we can mark the area to warn those with dogs or vehicles... Let us know of any stranding s of dolphins, whales, vessels, or anything else of interest... Report any persons abusing the environment by riding bikes and 4wd vehicles across sensitive sand dune area's...or driving dangerously... Report if anyone needs a tow out of the soft sand or mud, or needs help in any way... Take pic's of interesting stuff... Have FUN...
