Story Cross Hills Gardens is the largest private garden in the Manawatu that features one of the world's finest collections of rhododendrons and azaleas. The large gardens feature over 2,000 varieties of rhododendrons and azaleas and many other rare trees, shrubs and perennials have been planted to add interest for all seasons to provide a colourful and vibrant display. Onsite facilities include the Garden Cafe and Plant Centre. All buildings and virtually all the gardens are accessible by wheelchairs, electric scooters and pushchairs. Alternatively, you can book a tour on the 'Magic Mini' and get chauffeured around the gardens. An onsite camellia maze and a beautiful waterfall give children, and the young at heart, hours of fun!
