About The Old School is open for B&B also available for small events. Located near Hobbiton, Matamata, New Zealand Story A unique property, The Old School is a re-purposed country school converted to a comfortable family home. With approximately two acres of school grounds and a horse paddock, there is plenty of space. It is also very eco with 5.7 kw solar panels of the barn roof and rainwater is recycled. Heirloom Organic fruit trees have been planted and the veg garden is also organic with onsite composting and worm farming. The Barn Bed and Breakfast accommodation is in a purpose built American Barn with north facing living areas housed between the tennis court and the rugby field. It has its own ensuite, living area and a kitchenette for continental breakfasts. (this will be ready soon) The School Bed and Breakfast accommodation offers a Queen and Single Rooms with shared private lounge and the Boys bathroom exclusive for guests. (this is available now)
