About Brett & Shirley Miller are your hosts. We are "locals" and are only too happy to make sure your stay is enjoyable and memorable. Story Sand Motel is situated in the picturesque Whangaumu Bay, Tutukaka. The small sheltered bay usually provides safe swimming conditions for the whole family, Whangaumu Bay is a 30 minute drive from Whangarei and supermarkets. There are 2 local stores situated a 5 minute drive away, either at Ngunguru, or Tutukaka. There are dining options at Ngunguru, either at the Sports Complex Tues - Sundays and at Salt Air Café. Tutukaka offers 2 restaurants at Oceans or Schnappa Rock, Marina Pizzeria on the marina and a Bistro meal at The Galley within the Deep Sea Anglers Club. There are fishing charters and dive trips available at the Tutukaka Marina area too.
