What is the purpose of Maia House?

We inspire positive future for teenage parents and their children including pregnant teenagers through SAFE HOUSING, CARING ADULTS and SUPPORTIVE SERVICES.

SAFE HOUSING: Maia house is a warm, clean, dry, spacious and affordable home, with healthy nutritious food. Take a look at the short video of Maia House

CARING ADULTS: 24/7 house parents and Te Ora Hou staff who assist young parents for independent living through developing life skills e.g. budgeting, cooking, shopping, managing relationships and having a healthy lifestyle.

SUPPORTIVE SERVICES: Maia House enables teen mum’s access to a wide range of health, education and well-being services in our community. This could include finding a midwife, enrolling with a GP, accessing well-child/tamariki ora services, enrolling in school/early learning opportunities, engaging in activities that build confidence and self-esteem, develop parenting knowledge and skills, and accessing work and income.
