Story The Coalgate Operation consists of a quarry and processing plant specialising in the extraction and milling of Bentonite clay as well as locally sourced Limestone, Kaolin Clay and Dolomite. Canterbury Bentonite Ltd commenced operations in 1967 as subsidiary company of Lime & Marble Ltd Nelson.
