I am often in the library doing various bits of research including of course take books out. The stock is very good and the staff always go above and beyond to help you. I have used the library between different times of living in Eastbourne and its always been great. IT would be nice to have it open later but I don't think you will get more people visit.
Too many homeless people using it as a day time shelter. Often very cold as they love to keep windows open even in winter. WiFi atrocious for 2023. They conduct lessons in study rooms even though public trying to study. Could have a vending machine. Only one toilet which is busy. Wednesday closes at 1pm but you'd think they would open earlier in the morning. Could have more national newspapers to read. People eating their lunch here too
There is a lovely atmosphere in the library and the staff were so friendly and quick to help. The children’s library is huge and there are places to sit and read with your children. We can’t wait to come back! :
Lovely bright clean library. Plenty of quiet spaces and lots of computers to use.
I hadn't visited the library for so long that my card was out of date. A really lovely librarian helped me , was so pleasant and said welcome back! That's service I feel
This library is neat, however not ideal for students... Wifi is also pretty slow.
Not familiar with libraries in order to compare but this one is large over several floors with computers for use and generally well laid out.
One hour free internet once registered, which was easy. Even if you do not have a current address.
The place was rather unfriendly, the computers in the library is causing out daily communication to decrease and plummet into despair. Everyone was so gloomy and quiet and no one was friendly at all, all sat by themselves in complete silence.The people typing on the computers were very distracting and could not let me read in peace. Staff were also very distant and quiet and i couldn’t hear them at all. Shocking.
