Perhaps it was my own Chinese expectations that were too high. But the xiao long baos made me lose my appetite for them. I had them delivered and the skins has all burst ruining the surprise. As well as the filling and the skins being off putting to eat. The fried dumplings were okay but I would prefer hand made over these. Don't order you'll be disappointed
Food is not terrible. Limited dumpling options on the menu for a dumpling joint. Some of the fried options are nice at the time but I regretted them later. I enjoyed coming here in the past but enjoyed it less more recently. Takes quite a while to prep even at quiet times.
Went here a few years ago prior to covid and had a great meal, took to family back 3 years later as we were in wellington for the day, wasn't what I remembered. The soup dumpling was OK but the pan fred not so good as they were very oily.Food: 2/5
Haven't been here in a while but even though it was a super quiet lunchtime it still took over 30 mins for the food to be finished, the person preparing the Bao was taking a call on a personal phone which caused delays. The dumplings ended up being bland. On top of all this the kitchen surfaces looked dirty and messy with containers and food lying about and the tables were not clean. This is very disappointing as they used to be good.
Ordered dumplings for one, took 45 minutes until I received my order that had been sitting on the counter for goodness knows how long. Customers who were arriving after me had received their food and left already. Dumplings were pretty bland, unfortunately not a good experience for me.
The food was very delicious and the price reasonable. We had the vegeterian, chicken and pork dumblings, which were great and edamame served with chili oil. Big plus: They served my companion and I with great kindness even though we came in 20 minutes before closing time. Maybe because we seemed so hungry. Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you very much for the good food. :
Pork and garlic chive dumplings are so good, 10/10 recommend
Fast, fresh, delicious. Food is made right in front of you and is as fresh as it comes. The dumplings were absolutely perfect, and the options available were fantastic. My only complaint is the stools are very uncomfortable but the food distracted me completely.
Friendly welcoming staff. Beautiful dumplings and wontons. Also had a rose tea which was such a delicious delicate flavour. Highly recommended.
We waited very long for our take away order to be prepared. Food was ok but I prefer the Dumpling'd on The Terrace.Food: 4/5
