Story
DRIVE an Addictions and Mental Health Consumer Network for people of CMDHB. DRIVE stands for Workforce Development, Recovery, Information, Voice and Education. Two coordinators work with you the people, and families of those who identify as people with mental health or addiction service needs in the Counties Manukau region. "DRIVE is a network for people who have lived experience of Mental Distress and/or harm from Alcohol or other Drugs - and their whānau - in Counties Manukau.Please make an appointment with a coordinator before coming to the office. We spend a lot of time in the community and want to make sure we're there for you.We let you know what supportive resources are available, so you can empower yourself.We support the personal & professional development of the lived experience workforce through free workshops with ABACUS and the Recovery College of NZ.We administer two scholarships:- Dapaanz Cutting Edge Conference, and- DRIVE's Recovery Camp.SYSTEMIC ADVOCACYWe engage in systemic advocacy by promoting the voice of lived experience."
