Story

I qualified as a medical doctor in 1981 from Auckland University. I trained initially in General Practice. After that I became interested in alternative health and trained in acupuncture. This led me to explore various other complementary methods and in 2001 I started practicing Applied Kinesiology. I regularly travel to Australia to continue training in this field. Where possible, I use science based proven methods in my practice, but I also acknowledge that the basis of some methods I use defy scientific explanation However these methods are measurable and reproducible.

Some methods use the body's energy system to improve your well being.

One of my favorite places. Steve and his team not only changed my life but have saved it. From Steve's vast knowledge and above and beyond care, to the fantastic "find a vein without any pain" Faith, the healthcare here is simply outstanding. Liz on reception is welcoming and super organised, such a light in anyone's hard medical journey and my husband can't say enough good about Kate who's nutrition knowledge and help has made his diagnosis and heart bypass road so much easier. The level of thought, care, comfort and cleanliness is perfectly fitting with the family feel. I definitely recommend Steve and his team to help with any medical issue, small or large. For many things there are no cure, but Steve gave me living back and words are inadequate to express my gratitude for a life that's totally livable, because before I saw him it just wasn't. Check them out! Waiting lists are long so don't delay!
Have been seeing them for a few years now and would highly recommend. Such a warm, welcoming environment and such care given during appointments. Would recommend to anyone not getting answers/resolution to health issues.
Dr Steve Joe worked with us to help our then 5 month old baby who had been unwell since his 3 month immunisations with abdominal discomfort which disrupted his feeding and sleep quality significantly. Following 7 GP visits and paediatric consultations we were frustrated and exhausted with the lack of improvement for our unwell and unhappy baby week to week. Dr Joe was recommended to us by a friend and we are so grateful we found him. Dr Joe responded to us quickly and did a hair test on our baby which was completely noninvasive and really easy to do long distance. He listened empathetically in our consultation about our concerns and asked lots of considered questions about his sleep, bowel movements, feeding and awake behaviours; seeking a holistic understanding of what the underlying issues were and potential solutions. Our baby's hair test indicated he was struggling with instestinal candida, adrenal stress, leaky gut and a misbehaving valve causing abdomincal discomfort. Dr. Joe couriered treatments immediately that we were easily able to mix with his milk and told us to expect improvement in one week. I was skeptical after 8 weeks of being told by other health professionals that he would surely be feeling better "next week" but bang on a week after starting his treatment our baby ate his full breakfast milk feed for the first time in 8 weeks. He only improved from there and within 3 weeks of treatment he now finishes all his milk feeds daily, is once again our smiling and giggling little boy who loves to be social, and went from waking 5 to 10 times nightly to sleeping 11-12 hours overnight. We feel like sane parents again who have a life back and are so appreciative to Dr Joe and his amazing team for ACTUALLY LISTENING and ACTUALLY ADDRESSING THE PROBLEM. A sincerely life changing experince for us and honestly so freaking easy!!
