Story

Really amazing journey. Such a beautiful view in doubtful sound. It’s really allow me to appreciate the nature there. Especially amazing when the cruise let us having 2-3 minutes of silent to appreciate the nature sound
This place was one of my main reasons for traveling to New Zealand. It did not disappoint. I went Milford Sound as well. While both are incredible sights, Doubtful Sound has several advantages. It covers a larger area, begins with a cruise across Manipouri Lake, and affords the opportunity to see some of the forest on the bus ride between the lake and the sound. Perhaps the biggest advantage is that there is just one company running two cruises per day and an overnight instead of multiple companies running 6-7 cruises per day each. It's much quieter/more isolated as a result. I took the first cruise of the day. The view of Manipouri Lake as it transitioned from nighttime to daylight added to the experience. I hoped for rain so I could see as many falls along the way as possible. It rained the night before and a good portion the day of the cruise. The views were specular. The rain just meant I was going to get wet to enjoy some of them. Turns out I dried off just fine and didn't melt before that happened. I can't begin to do justice to the sights I saw with words, so I'll just say go see it. You'll be glad you did.
Extraordinary part of the world. Nature's forces have chiseled a landscape into a cathedral of rock. Then life has transformed the resulting shapes into a place that has to be experienced.
Pretty spectacular place, boat tour out to Whisky Falls was a great fun, would recommend!
excellent, the pilots very welcoming, the staff very kind and the landscapes magnificent. The perfect organization nothing to say! however, unlike Milford Sound where the cafe's are free self serve etc. on Doubtful Sound's seven hour cruise nothing is included. Nothing is offered, not even a sandwich or a coffee, you have to pay for everything and he only took cash. So we didn't have any and we stayed for seven hours on an empty stomach. Bad for $460 spent… but thank to the staff!
Excellent trip today. Bus driver Ram was really great and also guide on the boat on the 10am trip through the sounds was great too. Both these people are a great asset to your company RealNZ.
Nice people and good trip. It was beautiful, it deserves this price. The only one thing is that you have nothing free, and for this price they could give a coffee or something.
The most beautiful place I've been to before, if you go with the real journey people the boat ride is pretty lush as you get to have a great ride at the front of the boat when it gets really choppy. Free tea and coffee and we got to see the seals at the area where the ocean met the Fiord. Amazing, its a bit expensive to do but incredibly worth the money and a lot of the money you pay goes towards the conservation of the area so that's good.
Another most beautiful places in New Zealand. I did the day cruise with Real Journeys. We were lucky to have a super sunny day and saw seals and a couple of yellow eye penguins which is rarest species in the world. The journey includes a couch ride along the national park as well. Lucky to have local offer and got tickets at cheap.
If you have an opportunity do not think twice about it. A beautiful wilderness experience. We were fortunate to have snow capped hills. Such dramatic scenery. We went on the Fiordland navigator for an overnight stay. An incredible journey.
