Ordered take-aways on our way to Mahurangi East, not much choice in Snells Beach, so no expectations... But what a positive surprise! The quality of the food was amazing, the service was super friendly, very enjoyable dinner - thank you. Vegetarian options: We had 2 delicious vegetarian dishes, nice choice!

Excellent Lamb Rogan Josh - medium is just spicy enough for me and the 14yo Butter Chicken expert declared it to be excellent and nailed the whole serving by himself. Decent chunks meet accompanied with a great garlic naan. An asset to our community!
We ordered food from Spice Root restaurant in Snells Beach. We were advised that the order would take 35 minutes - I arrived after 35 minutes to be told it was going to be another 35 minutes. So had to go away again. Arrived again after another 35 minutes, to be told they had been crazy busy - there were literally 4 people in the restaurant. I had ordered 4 chicken curries of various types, plus nuggets and chips and a side of raitha. As we left we discovered that there were no nuggets, only chips. When I went back in I was told they had run out of nuggets and only then was I given a $5 refund. We left and when we got home we discovered that they had forgotten the raitha, and one ofnthe curries was beef, not chicken. What an absolute shambles of a restaurant. They don't deserve to be in business. And they owe me money for the raitha
Worst Indian ever. Some of the sizzling platter was still cold and the plate was definitely not sizzling. Main meal was just as disappointing. Naan bread was the smallest ever. The only saving grace was the young waitress.
I ordered Muttar Panner and they gave me Butter panner. Took 20 minutes to made Muttar panner which was yuck and wasted my time. Meantime Naan bread and rice sitting there got cold. Also, Size of rice bowl was bigger than Curry which is weird. No Apologies from them and worst service and quality. Will not recommend it to anyone.
We enjoyed two beautiful curries, the generous portions were very flavoursome and full of fresh spices. Onion bhaji and Samosas were a real highlight too and we would highly recommend! The staff were very lovely and helpful too
Good to try here in snell beach. Has various kijds of currykorma, vindaloo, .. more which i dont remember Lamb, chicken, seafood, beef, vegetable curry. Price range 15~17$ for curry. They also offer delivery service in nearby area.
Tried something new, had the "Tandoori platter for two". Wish I could say it was great but sorry it wasn't. It was so salty we couldn't get through half of the meal, and the for the price........ I would not recommend it!
I wish i could give them zero star as we order many times and always either naan bread burn or gravy without seasoning and tasteless. Last time I ordered meal and manager ask us to remove the review as they scared from there boses . Chicken madras i orderd taste like melted plastic when we went back to return and i asked them to try and they deny to taste and chef started shouting . I am indian and i know what are flavours and how the curries taste like. Owner should have to come and do quality check and inspect what the chefs are preparing for customer as its a major part of food control i would say to owner they should need to take to their chefs to reputed Indian restaurant . So their chefs can try what is the Authentic food taste like. The manager and chef ask us to never come back again . We gave them soo many chances as its small town and we want to support our locals. But horrible experience. Reply to owner. ..well your chef started shouting you should have to check camera’ , its not only me there are soo many other indians as well who reviewed your food bad.
