The biggest question we hear is “How do we buy?”. Hopefully this section will make that easy for you. First, a few things about us!
Our delivery area is currently all of Wellington and as far North as Paraparaumu / Otaihunga or Upper Hutt / Te Marua (excluding Akatarua). You are of course welcome to pick up your goodies from our Tawa depot.

We don’t like to be beaten price so if you have a quote on a product we supply, give us an e-mail and we will do our best to beat it. If you are a builder or wish to discuss an ongoing supply agreement we are more than willing to meet with you.

Because we are a cut-price DIY supplier we do not provide services such as measuring and quoting or assisting with product recommendations. If you need help with this we feel that you would be better served by engaging with a full service supplier such as a retail store who can advise you more closely.

We do our best to keep all of our overheads at an absolute minimum to make sure we are able to deliver the best prices we can. We don’t have showrooms or salespeople and we do not include “free” underlay in our prices.

If you would like samples the manufacturers do charge for these and we also separate this cost out to avoid you subsidising others but are certainly more than happy to obtain them for you. All samples are a single cost of $15, delivered.

Lastly, our business model assumes you have done your research.

The internet is full of information about what a Broadloom Meter is, the pros and cons of wool products and synthetics, reviews, tradespersons, consumer watchdogs and great advice from other DIYers. We even have some helpful tips on our webpage under ‘DIY Help’.

Between YouTube and Google you will find everything you could ever need to know about flooring and DIY. We would encourage everyone investing in new flooring to spend time getting to know what is out there in the marketplace from the variety of views published on the web. It is a lot of money, after all!

Now… How to buy!?

1) Browse:

Have a look through our website at the products we offer and have a read through the information that we link through to the manufacturers websites. All samples are available by request for a small fee, delivered direct to you.

2) Once you have found a product you like:

Next, we check if the manufacturer has it available. For this you will need to send us an e-mail or give us a call. Our details can be found in the “Contact Us” tab on the left. In your e-mail please include both the product name, how much you need and the colour. We endeavor to get back to you the same day.

We will also send you all the information relevant to the product such as price, warranty information, care information and technical data sheets if available.

3) Confirmation and payment:

Once you have confirmed to us that you are happy with the product we will give you bank details for payment or, if you prefer, you can pay at our office. Once payment is received we will provide a full GST receipt and bring in your product from the manufacturer. We usually receive products within three days of cleared payment.

4) Pickup or Delivery

We will give you a call when your products arrive and arrange the best way to get them to you.

Our contact e-mail address is Office(at)DIYflooring.co.nz.

Our office hours are:
Monday 7.30am to 5.30pm
Tuesday 7.30am to 4.00pm
Wednesday 7.30am to 4.00pm
Thursday 7.30am to 4.00pm
Friday 7.30am to 5.30pm
Trademe Remnant Listings

Our remnant stock listed on Trademe is a slightly different process and we have viewings at our Warehouse Fridays and Mondays 4.30pm to 5.30pm. Please do make sure you contact us to arrange first because we have two storage areas and meet there only for bookings.

In our DIY business we are able to offer such great prices because we firmly limit our expenses and overheads to avoid passing them on to customers. With viewings for remnant stock this does mean we must stick to our offered times to minimize wages and other costs that would otherwise inflate our pricing.

AWESOME place, best bargains. Hawke is one efficient worker. This place is there to support any DIYer as the name suggests. At the time of purchase when I was nervous they showed me how easy it is and gave me all the support it's fantastic service and I will always go back for more
The whole process from start to finish was a breeze. Lyall came out to do the quote on the same day that I called him and provided me with the quote that evening. The installation was as smooth as can be and I’m more than happy with the finished product!
I've been dealing with Ben and Lyall for a few years now and I can't recommend them enough. They've always been super helpful, friendly and they are the first people I call when I need floor coverings for my transportable homes.
