Superb; from dry feet for decades to Rescue Diver thanks to the excellent & diligent instructors staff and general happy welcoming environment I experienced. A shop with knowledgeable staff and top gear. Commendable, recommendable
I recently completed the Diploma in Professional Scuba Instruction at Dive Otago. The staff were extremely knowledgeable regarding the course material, dive sites, scuba gear and maintenance. The instructors were super supportive throughout the course. I can definitely say the Milford trip was a highlight!
The first time I came across this business I had zero knowledge of anything to do with the diving world. Each of the staff members I have dealt with have been extraordinary people and the culture of the company is clearly outstanding. They brought me along in a safe and comfortable manner and have been treated as a friend every time I enter the shop. This business has a winning formula and is staffed with truly special people.
What you learnt in your first term of your diploma? Open water Advance open water Rescue diver Efr first aid Learning how to dive properly and safely What would you like to learn in your second term of your diploma? Dive master Keep improving my diving skills and start to learn how to teach people Who your instructors where? Matt Lizzie Jackson Lily Emma All instructors where great Your favourite dive and why First deep dive, terrible viz but the Playful sea lion was very memorable, dive was off a boat on the dry dock
In the 1st term learnt how to control my buoyancy using my breathing and BCD. How to adjust my trim underwater with the placement on my weights around my body. There was also the use of navigation underwater with a compass. These were the few things I felt affected my time underwater become a better experience. In the 2nd term I really hope to see my skills I've learnt so far become honed down so that I can feel more confident as a scuba diver later in the year as I move forward to an instructors level. I've had some great instructors teaching me, so far through the year; Anthony, Emma, Liz, Jackson, Lily and Matt. Who all I have spent some time with, Matt has done a great job at sticking with our class through the 1st term at Dive Otago. I also felt Lily had Liz had done a great effort into teaching the class in our rescues. One of my favourite dives I've done with Dive Otago has been my 1st time at Wellers Rock, particularly to do with the mass amount of aquatic life you'll find there. That day it had also been great visibility, compared to what we had been at Aramoana in previous dives. Aramoana has also been a great Dive Site, we have seen other types of aquatic life and the visibility can be pretty well on the odd day!
Very friendly people in a wonderfully equipped dive school. They had the perfect boots for me and being a maritime historian I was heartened by the owner's enthusiasm for the subject.
Anthony was super helpful with setting us up with tanks. We had a beautiful dive at Aromoana. Thanks!
Recently went back to Milford Sound with Dive Otago 20 years after my first experience there! and have to say they once again delivered an amazing experience! An incredible part of the world and every part of the trip was professionally delivered, highly recommend.
